New US Apple Refurb store debuts
Filed under: Retail, DealsTonight, Apple debuted its new Refurb storefront, an updated part of the Apple store that allows you to shop for refurbished Macs, iPods and iPhones. New features include a "latest offers" column and a freshened-up overall redesign. So is there anything staggeringly new at this updated store? No, not really. The storefront looks really nice though--and I like that you can see at a glance the new stock as it arrives. Of course, a new-item RSS feed would really rock...Thanks Tony PitaleRead | Permalink | Email this | Comments

I found that this update turned my Mac Mini into a free, low-rent slingbox. I can now bring my home TiFaux with me on the road, just by tuning in using my iPhone, iPod touch or laptop.Continue reading EyeTV 2.5 offers free slingbox-style video streamingRead | Permalink | Email this | Comments

TUAW Interview: Ambrosia's Andrew Welch on the iPhone update and iToner
Filed under: Features, TUAW Interview, iPhoneAs we reported yesterday, Ambrosia Software is working hard to get their iPhone ringtone maker iToner working again after it was broken by the iPhone 1.1.1 update. Last evening the president of Ambrosia Software, Andrew Welch, was kind enough to sit down with us (virtually, anyway) to comment on the iPhone update and iToner, as well as to share some of his outlook as a third-party developer more or less beholden to Apple's business decisions. I think he draws an important distinction between the sort of hacking that went into the actual third-party iPhone applications and what iToner does. Speaking from long experience I think he has an interesting perspective on the development of third-party applications in the Apple ecosystem.Continue reading TUAW Interview: Ambrosia's Andrew Welch on the iPhone update and iTonerPermalink | Email this | Comments
