What is the 31 Day Burpee Challenge?

The 31 Day Burpee Challenge is a daily strength challenge through the month of August. Each day, we’ll do one more burpee than the day before. We’ll start with one burpee on Aug 2, two on Aug 2, and build up to 31 on Aug 31. You can do it! For each burpee you complete in a class — Live or On Demand — Gixo will donate $0.05 to the Women’s Sports Foundation (up to $25).

How do I sign up for the Burpee Challenge?

Once you take a Burpee Challenge daily class in the app, you’re signed up. You can start any time in the month of August.

Why burpees?

Burpees are the broccoli of fitness: they have so many benefits! You’re building strength, doing cardio, and improving mobility all at the same time. They build cardiovascular stamina and strength in your quads, glutes, hamstrings, triceps, chest, and abs. Burpees are also ideal for meeting weight loss goals. Many people have a love/hate relationship with burpees and we hope to tip you into the love column!

What time are the classes?

Each day there will be a new Burpee Challenge class On Demand with the appropriate number of burpees for the day. The coach will teach you how to do several types of burpees and then cheer you on through each one.

Each week there will also be an optional live Burpee Challenge Check-in class on Wednesday. This is a great time to join fellow Teammates doing the challenge and to get feedback from the coaches.

At the end of the Challenge on Aug 31, we’ll come together in live 31 Day Burpee Bash and do our 31 burpees together.

How long are the On Demand classes?

Pretty short! The first few classes will be very short since we’ll only be doing a few burpees. They will gradually increase in time as we build to 31 burpees. We recommend doing other Gixo classes in addition to the daily Burpee Challenge.

What if I miss a day?

Don’t beat yourself up! Just rejoin the challenge. We’re ready when you are.

Can I raise more than $25 if I do more burpees?

You are welcome to do as many burpees as you want but you can only earn credit the max for each day. Aug 1 = 1 burpee, Aug 14 = 14 burpees, etc. We’ll be tallying all of the classes you took LIVE and On Demand at the end of the month for the donation. And yes, for On Demand it’s on the honor system.

What if I can’t make it to the live Burpee Bash on Aug 31?

We’ll be sure to put the class On Demand so you can take it later!
